22149 - Machine for assembling car armrest components

The machine is designed to automate the assembly and riveting of Halter components.

Purpose of the machine

The machine is used for assembling Halter components. The tasks of picking and correctly assembling the components are carried out by the operator, with the assistance and supervision of the machine, using appropriate prompts and ‘Pick to Light’ sensors. The automatic cycle operations, riveting and crimping, are carried out using high-quality drive units – two TOX pneumatic-hydraulic cylinders.

Description of operation

  • Placing the workpiece in the fixture;
  • The operator assembling all necessary components using feeders fitted with pick-to-light sensors;
  • Securing the workpiece;
  • Moving the workpiece carrier to the working position;
  • Activating the automatic cycle;
  • Checking for the presence of components using laser sensors;
  • Performing the riveting and crimping process using TOX pneumatic-hydraulic cylinders whilst simultaneously measuring the distance of the rivet from the Halter surface;
  • Returning the assembly plate to its original position;
  • Unlocking the workpiece;
  • Removing the finished workpiece from the machine.

Device construction

LOCKING MODULE

This module is designed to secure the workpiece intended for the riveting process.

PRESSURE MECHANISM

The mechanism, fitted on both sides of the Halter, is designed to press down the assembly components intended for the riveting process.

SLIDING PLATE

In accordance with requirements regarding the maintenance of safe distances between moving parts and hazardous zones, the machine is equipped with a plate that allows the workpiece to be moved into the machine’s working position.

RIVETING MODULE

The riveting module comprises high-quality drive units – two TOX pneumatic-hydraulic cylinders with a stroke of 50 mm and a crimping force of up to 48 kN. The correctness of the process is verified by GT2 sensors in the riveting module, which monitor the distance between the end of the rivet and the surface of the Halter.

OPERATOR PANEL

The control elements and 7-inch display allow the process to be monitored and individual machine movements to be controlled.

ASSEMBLY COMPONENT CONTAINERS

The machine is equipped with eight containers for assembly parts, fitted with ‘Pick to Light’ sensors, which signal the correct sequence of part retrieval to the operator and verify the execution of this operation.

SAFETY LEVEL

In accordance with the customer’s guidelines and in compliance with the requirements of the PN-EN ISO 12100 standard, the machine is equipped with a range of technical safety measures such as: an emergency stop switch and two-hand control.

Benefits for the customer / user

  • Elimination of human error and simplification of the sub-assembly process – use of pick-to-light sensors;
  • Automation of the riveting process for Halter components;
  • Ensuring an ergonomic design.
