POLYOL PRODUCTION FACILITY
The SM Blend mixing station is designed to prepare polyols in accordance with the required formula (reference).
Description of operation
The unit produces the final product by mixing base polyols (5 types) with additives (12 types). The composition of the mixtures is flexible and depends on the currently selected reference. Additives are dosed into the additive tank, from which they are transferred to the main tank. The main tank is equipped with a mixer. The finished product can be transferred to an integrated IBC filling station or to external tanks. The station has five transfer lines equipped with automatically controlled valves.
Station design
BASIC POLYOL CONNECTION
Base polyols are drawn from external tanks (not included in the unit). The station communicates via an electrical interface with the control systems of the polyol storage tanks. Each base polyol line has its own communication interface. It is possible to control the polyol dosing speed (fast/slow).
ADDITIVE PUMPING UNIT
The additive pumping unit consists of twelve stations. The design of the stations depends on the method of supplying and storing chemical additives.
MIXING UNIT
The mixing unit is used to prepare the finished product, which is a mixture of base polyols and additives. The main components of the unit are the main tank and the additive tank. The main tank is equipped with a mixer with a maximum operating speed of 280 rpm.
IBC CONTAINER FILLING UNIT
The filling unit consists of a polyol filling station and an isocyanate filling station. The filling head is equipped with: an IBC container presence sensor, a maximum level sensor, a vent connection and a pneumatic clamping mechanism.
SAFETY LEVEL
In accordance with the customer’s guidelines and in compliance with the requirements of the PN-EN ISO 12100 standard, the machine is equipped with a range of technical safety measures such as: an emergency stop switch, a manual compressed air valve, guards and pictograms.
Benefits for the customer/user
- automation of the polyol mixing and dispensing process;
- a wide range of additive combinations;
- safe and ergonomic design for the operator and maintenance staff.
