19185 - Automatic crimping machine for the production of fuel lines
The machine is designed to perform single or double crimping of PA hoses. The diameters of the hoses to be crimped range from 5 to 8 mm, and their lengths from 500 to 2500 mm. The maximum crimping dimensions are:
• Crimped hose diameter: 9.5–11.4 mm,
• Distance between crimps: 17.5–20 mm,
Description of operation
The machine is designed to perform single or double crimping of PA hoses. The machine operates according to a specific automatic cycle:
- movement to position (distances specified in the reference);
- lifting of the drive pressure cylinder and extension of the upper jaws;
- extension of the lower jaws;
- extension of the working cylinders;
- simultaneous retraction of all jaws;
- visual inspection of the completed stacking;
- movement to the next position (stacking or cutting);
- movement to the cutting position;
- extension of the guillotine cylinder;
- retraction of the guillotine cylinder.
Device design
FUEL LINE UNWINDER
The fuel line unwinder module is where the fuel line is stored and fed to the line puller. A swing arm with angular deflection control ensures the unwinder operates correctly and the lines are guided properly. An access door allows for quick replacement of the material hopper.
HOSE PULLER MODULE
The hose puller module is designed to feed the hose to the crimping module and measure the length of the section using an encoder. The hose is fed by the mechanical movement of belts that press against the hose. The module is equipped with a screw for adjusting the belt tension.
CRIMPING MODULE
The crimping module is designed to mechanically crimp the hose. The relevant section of the fuel hose is fed into the working position by the pull-in module. It is then clamped by a clamping cylinder, and the crimping is performed by the clamping action of several working cylinders. The module is also equipped with a vision system to verify the correctness of the process.
CUTTING MODULE
The cutting module is designed to cut the specified section of the fuel line after the crimping operations have been correctly performed. The cutting is mechanical in nature – it is carried out by the feed of a cutting blade driven by a pneumatic cylinder.
SAFETY LEVEL
In accordance with the customer’s guidelines and in compliance with the requirements of the PN-EN ISO 12100 standard, the machine is equipped with a range of technical safety measures such as: an emergency stop switch, safety latches, magnetic limit switches, guards and pictograms.
Benefits for the customer/user
- improved fuel line crimping process;
- visual inspection of the completed process;
- safe and ergonomic design for the operator and maintenance staff.
