Armrests inspection device
The stand is used for the purposes of inspection of quality of armrests in respect of correctness of: material, colour, angle and time of flaps being open.
We also check the depth and the force of pressure exerted on the button necessary to open the flaps.
A part conforming to the model gets a label with a QR code.
Functional descriptionOnce the workpiece is put into the seat and the cycle is initialized, an automatic process consisting of the following operations is performed:
If all parameters are within tolerance, an identification label is printed. All measurement data is uploaded to the on-site SCADA network. The device can operate with the on-site production management system. Data on the type and volume of production as well as information on cycle time, downtime and machine idle time can be transmitted to the master system.

Construction of device
Rotary table |
Two-position mechanism designed for two interchangeable armrest seats, enabling precise stopping;
|
Operator panel |
The controls elements and 12" display allow for selecting the right reference, previewing the inspection and controlling the individual machine movements;
|
Electric cylinder for pressure control |
According to strict customer guidelines, the pressure force on the lock box opening button must not exceed 12N, while the flaps must open within the optimal angular range;
|
Video inspection, material control |
Armrests are made from dozens of types of leather and textiles that are very similar to each other and difficult to identify. The KEYENCE video system was used to check the material;
|
Level of safety assurance |
A number of technical safety measures such as light curtains and locks were applied to the machine, and the stopping distance measurement of the rotary table was carried out to achieve a high category of safety and protection for the operator

Advantages
- The inspection of workpieces eliminates the mistakes of the operators and allows for prevention of sending the final product not conforming to the specified reference;
- Extensive system for recording each armrest with all measurement data;
- Ability to retrieve the history of manufactured workpieces and analyse them in Excel;
- Avoiding the costs associated with complaints.
